The shot that Tom Murphy had waited 42 years for finally came on Sunday when he holed an ace at Millers Barn Golf Club.
And 70-year old Irishman Murphy celebrated his once-in-a-lifetime feat with his favourite tipple an orange and lemonade.
"People can't believe that an Irishman with a name like Murphy doesn't drink," said Tom, who drilled his driver 249 yards to hole out on the fifth hole.
"I've never touched a drop in my life, but I bought a round for everyone else on Sunday," he added.
Tom, who lives in Clacton, has been playing golf since he was 28, and said: "It just goes to show that practice makes perfect."
