A disused brickworks has been given the go-ahead to be the site for Southend Hospital's new major facility.
District councillors agreed the former Cherry Orchard brickworks and some scrubland on the outskirts of Rochford could be turned into a diagnostic and treatment centre.
The 15-acre site would go a long way to easing the parking nightmare at the hospital.
