Third Division rivals Leyton Orient could be planning a renewed swoop for Southend United skipper Kevin Maher.
The East Enders nearly tempted the 26-year-old midfielder away from Roots Hall two seasons ago.

But Maher showed tremendous loyalty to Southend, turning down more money at Brisbane Road to sign a new two-year deal with Blues.
However, O's boss Paul Brush, a former Southend defender, has indicated he may be preparing a cash bid for the influential performer, which would have to be in the region of £50,000.
"I know Kevin could do a good job for us," said Brush. "He could play the holding midfield role here and it is no secret we have been keen on bringing him to Brisbane Road in the past.
"However, Kevin is still under contract at Roots Hall and would command a fee.
"But that would not rule out the possibility of making a move for him as two of the other players I've been tracking have deals as well."
