Arena Essex entertain Elite League outfit Peterborough tonight in their opening British League Cup match.
The visitors are expected to include 1992 World Champion Gary Havelock, Australian Shane Parker and 22 year-old rising Danish star Hans Andersen in their line-up.
The Hammers will be tracking their usual septet with young reserve Jason King expected to have recovered from the bruised ribs he sustained at Glasgow on Sunday.
One of the features in recent weeks at the Purfleet Raceway has been the form of Joonas Kylmakorpi, affectionately dubbed "The Flying Finn" and the rider has been producing some magnificent scores in recent meetings.
He only dropped four points in 16 rides on the Hammers recent three match Northern tour and immediately after that, he was in action for parent club Eastbourne at Wolverhampton on Monday where he top-scored with 14 points.
An added attraction for supporters will be provided by 2000 World Speedway Champion Mark Loram.
The rider has been out of action recently following a broken arm which has forced him to miss the opening two rounds of this year's Grand Prix.
However, he is set for a practice spin around Arena during Friday's meeting in the hopes that he can prove his fitness ahead of the British Grand Prix in Cardiff on 14 June.
The match with Peterborough commences at 8.00 p.m.
