A charity worker with learning difficulties was kidnapped from south Essex and taken to a Norfolk hotel where she was raped, police said today.
The 21-year-old, from Shoebury, had been collecting cash outside the M25 Moto service station in Thurrock.
The woman was approached by a man who spoke to her for a some time before persuading her to get into his red four-door car.
He drove her to Norfolk against her will and checked into a hotel room where he raped her.
He continued to hold her against her will until the following day when he abandoned her at the hotel.
She was able to contact relatives in Essex and was collected. Essex Police have launched a joint investigation with Norfolk detectives.
Police say the woman was very distressed by the ordeal.
The alleged rapist was described as white and aged between 30 and 40 years. He was heavily build, 6ft, with very close cropped dark hair.
He had a dirty bandage around his left wrist and palm and a tattoo on right forearm. He wore black, faded jeans, old army-style boots, a white T-shirt and black sleeveless jacket.
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the young woman and the man in conversation between 1pm and 3pm on Monday at the M25 service station.
Anyone with information should contact Grays police on 01375 391212.
