Police have issued a danger warning to off road motorcyclists after two teenagers crashed on unroadworthy bikes.
Areas of wasteground around the Braintree district are being used by people riding small motorcycles and mopeds, which may be unfit to drive.
Troublespots include land off Kings Park, the Fairview estate, Coldnailhurst Avenue, Panfield and Rayne.
Insp Joe Wrigley, of Braintree police, said two teenagers were involved in an accident when riding unroadworthy bikes on a private road.
And now he is urging rogue bikers to think about safety.
He said: "We had an accident recently involving two teenagers driving unroadworthy mopeds on a private road, neither wearing adequate safety equipment. One fell off his bike and went face first on to the concrete.
"The people riding these bikes need to think about safety issues. Very often the riders aren't wearing helmets or any protective clothing."
