Showjumper Ricki Hill has scooped one of his biggest wins in the ring yet.
The 19-year-old Benfleet rider rode Prince of Wales to victory in the £2,000 Grand Prix at the Suffolk County Show.
Hill saw off the challenge of fellow top British riders such as John Whittaker and Robert Smith following two days of successful comptition.
Now Hill is preparing to compete at the Young Rider Nations Cup qualifier at Rheims, France, this weekend.
The event is acting as a qualifier for next month's European Cup in Le Touquet, France, and Hill is hoping a successful competition will secure his place in the Great Britain team.
Hill has already won three European team golds with the national squad but is keen for solo success too.
"This weekend will be the decider -- if he performs well he will be in the team again," said Hill's dad Rick.
"If he gets in it will be the fourth year in succession that he has made the team and if he is selected again he wants to get some individual success this time."
