Hardworking volunteers from Hadleigh, Benfleet and Canvey attended a thank you celebration organised by their borough councillors.
The annual volunteer day, designed to correspond with National Volunteer Week, was organised by the council and the Castle Point Association of Voluntary Services.
Its aim was to thank the unsung heroes who contribute towards the hitch-free running of Castle Point.

Mayor Chris Freeman hosted the proceedings for the first time.
He said: "They do so much for the community and it is important we show just how much we appreciate their efforts and input."
Outstanding volunteers received certificates and trophies, presented by Mr Freeman, and lunch was laid on for all the guests.
