The service also heard of the family's hope that her killer would be caught and brought to justice.
Family and friends packed into the Clacton Cemetery Chapel, off Burrs Road.
The Rev Norman Wright read a tribute from Mrs Dicker's daughter, Tracy Kinton. It said: "She was a lovely mum and nan to Michael, Claire, Craig and Carly and step-nan to Kelly, Jason and Terry.
"Everyone who knew her still misses her. We all hope and pray she is now with her husband Len, holding his hand and looking down."
Mrs Dicker, 58, had been married for more than 40 years and was just coming to terms with the death of her husband, who died a year ago.
Family and friends cried as Hero by Enrique Iglesias was played after which Mr Wright said Mrs Dicker was "our hero".
Mrs Dicker was found dead in her home in Craigfield Avenue, Great Clacton, by her son, Steve, on January 29.
A post-mortem examination revealed she had died from head injuries.
