Winning four of the five morning foursomes saw Thorpe Hall march into the last 16 of the senior Essex team competition for the Thornton Cup.
They eventually beat Toot Hill 13-2 to earn a home third round date with Warley Park on June 29.

Boyce Hill, 9.5 - 5.5 winners over East Herts at home, must now travel to Chelmsford while Orsett now go to Romford after seeing off Castle Point 12.5 - 2.5 on their own territory. Basildon went down 11-4 to Weald Park.
Thope were without skipper Frazer watson, who has had to undergo an operation on a back injury, while Lou Higgon deputised for the unwell David Peters in the singles.
