Golfers have helped raise thousands of pounds for Essex Air Ambulance.
Michael Moore, who partly organised the event at Braintree Golf Club, was confident more than £10,000 had been raised.
Eighty-eight people took part in a day of golf with 22 games played and Mr Moore, of Masterframe Windows, Crittall Road, Witham, said: "It was excellent. Complete strangers were coming up to me and shaking my hand and saying thank you for a wonderful day."
Mr Moore lost his right leg in a road accident in Slough three and a half years ago, and was airlifted to hospital in an air ambulance, which saved his life.
He said: "The air ambulance came and got me and got me to hospital in the nick of time."
Another event will be held in two years' time.
