Masked raiders who beat a publican over the head with a sawn-off shotgun were today being hunted by police.
The terrified 40-year-old was told to lie on the floor with a barmaid but struggled with the robbers as they attempted to tie his hands with plastic binding.
Terror - the Old King's Head in Stock which was targeted by armed men
The two men then fled empty-handed after targeting the Old King's Head pub in Stock after closing time in the early hours of yesterday.
Police said the pair waited until the pub was empty before bursting in as the landlord and the barmaid were cashing up.
One of the men brandished a sawn-off shotgun which he pointed at the publican's head while demanding money.
The man was then hit on the head with the butt of the shotgun and told to lie on the floor along with the barmaid.
The robbers ran off following the struggle with the landlord.
