Some bus fares in Colchester are to go up by 5p or 10p.
Arriva Colchester says it is the first increase for more than a year and is geared to keep pace with increased fuel and operational costs.
Many single fares will remain unchanged and return fares are also unaltered where there is no change to the relevant single fare.
The price of Clipper Cards, Bronze Cards and Rovers will increase but there is no change to the cost of Explorer tickets.
Colchester Borough cards for the inner zone will rise but not those covering the outer zone.
Arriva Colchester director Kevin Hawkins said: "Although we need to raise some fares to keep pace with increased fuel and operational costs, we have kept the increase to a minimum and many of our customers will not be affected by the review."
