Vandal-hit bowlers have invited councillors to come and see the problems they face "almost every day".

It follows the latest attack on Frinton Bowls Club, when hundreds of pounds worth of damage was caused.

Seats were left strewn on the green, the green was flooded, a concrete step smashed and chunks taken out of the greens.

A nearby council changing room and toilet was also smashed up, and broken glass spread across a children's playground at the playing fields off Jubilee Way, Frinton.

One mother with a small child spent an hour clearing away glass from smashed bottles.

An open letter from the club claimed: "The car park in the evening is almost always full of cars, motorbikes, mopeds, loud music and young people who think that is a good way to spend an evening."

There were fears the damage could be revenge attacks. Youngsters finding the council's toilets closed because of damage had asked to use the club's facilities.

"In the past two weeks, not only are we being asked for toilet facilities but drinks have been demanded - which we also refuse - possibly these refusals are vandals' revenge."
