Just three proposals from the controversial traffic scheme suggested for south Essex have won favour with Castle Point councillors.
The highways and leisure committee backed only the most popular plans put forward in Essex County Council's South Essex Multi Modal Study. These were:
To link the A130 into the A13 on the Pitsea side of Castle Point
To dual Canvey Way
To improve and rebuild the road between Sadlers Farm and Tarpots.
Councillors want a further probe into public transport options being proposed.
Nigel Thomas, director of technical services, said surveys returned by residents gave "a very confused picture" regarding public transport options.
The committee wants to find out more about the options, in a meeting with Essex County Council representatives.
