How much do you know about Colchester?
A historic competition has been launched to test people's knowledge of the town and borough
The web-based challenge aims to raise awareness of the past, present and future.
It is being run by Colchester 2020 the partnership of many local organisations setting out a plan for the town over the next couple of decades.
The competition gives entrants a chance to test their knowledge and learn 24 facts about the country's oldest recorded town.
Andrea Hill, Colchester Council chief executive and member of Colchester 2020, said: "Colchester has a lot to shout about and although we want people to focus on its future, it is essential we don't forget its past.
"By entering the competition, people will learn a few interesting points about the borough whilst getting the opportunity to win a great prize."
A £650 bike, donated by Essex Rivers Healthcare NHS Trust, awaits the competition winner, whose name will be pulled from a hat in October by Colchester's Garrison Commander Tony Barton.
