The countdown is on for the Broomfield Hospital Walk and Fun Day being held on Sunday June 22.
Preparations are well underway to ensure the event, which will raise funds for local orthopaedic services, is the biggest and best yet.
The main focus of the day will be a sponsored walk for people who have had orthopaedic surgery, especially those who have joint replacements.
For those who do not want to tackle the mile-long walk themselves they can nominate someone to do it on their behalf.
Walkers can also be accompanied by family, friends or colleagues who can raise sponsorship There will be plenty to see and do for all the family in the grounds of Broomfield Hospital between noon and 5pm. Parking will be free.
Teams will be battling it out for the It's A Knockout trophy, with groups of executives, matrons and surgeons preparing to get wet for a good cause. Budding Henmans are being asked to show off their on-court skills with a tennis tournament.
Bands will provide the music as people enjoy the numerous side shows and charity stalls.
Visitors will be able to see army trucks and tanks, fire engines and classic cars, take part in the grand raffle, enjoy a beer, or tuck into some barbecue food or ice cream.
There will also be a tug-of-war competition as well as the tennis tournament and It's A Knockout.
Youngsters will be able to enjoy a bouncy castle and there will also be face and nail painting and a special children's play area.
More information about the event, including how to take part in the walk, can be obtained from the Mid Essex Hospitals Trust charities office on 01245 514460.
