Seafront traders and leisure bosses were celebrating today after experiencing a record week in trading.
Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to Southend during the past week as temperatures reached searing levels of around 28 degrees.
With the recent hot weather, school half-term and last weekend's showpiece Southend Airshow, the cash tills have been ringing freely.
