Worries about careless driving and nuisance youths are top of the list in a police survey of residents from the Panfield Lane area of Braintree.
The survey was distributed to households earlier this month, asking them to identify any problems in the area they thought needed to be addressed by police.
Sgt Ken Midwinter, of the community policing team, said the results of the survey would be used to plan operations and patrols in the area and make life better for the residents.
He said: "It would appear that the majority of the complaints from residents are mainly about driving behaviour and inconsiderate driving.
"The next problem was nuisance youths, which had been a concern in the area for some time, although we have noticed a reduction in the number of calls about nuisance youths from the Panfield Lane area in the last month.
"We are continuing to patrol the area, particularly in the evenings, when the youths are likely to be on the streets."
The residents survey is part of a new strategy for the community policing team, focusing on longer term problems and taking a more in-depth look at crimes in particular communities.
