Westcliff Lawn gave themselves some much-needed breathing space in their Division One basement fixture with Kent Elms.
The London Road club pulled off a 5-1 win over the bottom-of -the-table club to put themselves three points clear of Elms.
Geoff Spillett and Eddie Lamb got the ball rolling with a 6-3 6-3 win over Elms' Pat Taylor and Bryan Bone.
The second rubber saw Lawn's Bez Berry and John Coleman tie 6-2 6-7 with Nigel White and Tony Philips.
But Nick Spillett and Paul Gutteridge ensured the win with a 6-4 7-5 win over Jerry Hamilton and Trevor Brealey.
