Rochford Hundred held their Kindred club Shield qualifier over the weekend when the superb condition of the course was reflected in the golf played.
And judging by the scores then Rochford look well set to retain the trophy when the final is held at Thorpe Hall in July.
Qualifiers from Saturday in the Greensome Stableford competition were Ian Hookway and Steve Bradley with 42 points followed by Paul Kirkland and Richard Hayes on 41.
Top duo on Sunday were Mike Fisher and immediate past captain Howard Southwood with 42 ahead of Ken Sendall and Fred Klass with 39.
Reserves are George Kemp and Peter Richardson and John Hodges and Mark Franklin.
Jo Rumsey notched up 36 Stableford points and was the overall winner when Rochford Ladies held their Spring meeting.
Silver division success went to Janice Hazledine on countback from Sue Proctor when they both scored 29. Mary Horne (28) was third.
Bronze A winner was Debbie Packwood whose 34 points saw off the challenge from Terri Stanley (31) and Sue Clarke (29).
