There were red faces all round when a teenage girl turned up at Southend fire station yesterday with her hands in handcuffs.
The 16-year-old, accompanied by two friends, asked firefighters to cut her free because the cuffs had become stuck - but she didn't explain how she came to be locked in them.
The cuffs were prised open with a screwdriver.
