A fundraiser has been rewarded for 30 years of hard work and dedication to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Canvey branch secretary of the RNLI, Don Maclean, 71, of St Luke's Close, Canvey, was awarded the gold badge for his money raising efforts at a ceremony held at the Barbican Centre in London.

He said: "I was awarded it by the Duke of Kent who thanked me for my work for the RNLI."
Mr Maclean was joined at the event by social secretary Dave Burgess and Chairman George Beecham.
He added: "Nobody earns this sort of thing on their own, it was a reward for everyone's hard work.
"I first started working for the RNLI in 1967 and was invited onto the committee two years later. I became treasurer around 1986 and when the secretary retired in 1995 I took over."
Mr Maclean helps organise a whole host of events throughout the year including a quiz night and cockney night as well as giving talks and organising bell ringers at Christmas.
