Those masterminding the revival of Canvey seafront were today hoping to spark a major new chance for funding.
Mary Spence, who heads the Thames Gateway project, was this afternoon due to visit the seafront and meet members of the regeneration group Canvey 2000.
The group's chairman, councillor Dennis Williams, said: "The Thames Gateway project is coming up through the south east corridor, looking for all this regeneration.
"We have been regenerating Canvey seafront for the last six years and have already raised £200,000. We have attracted £2.4million of investment and created 92 new jobs.
"There is another new investment coming, with a new theme park for the under 11s which will bring another £350,000 investment and 45 new jobs.
"We will be showing Mary Spence around and explaining what we do. We are hoping the Thames Gateway will look at our project and join us as one of our partners."
Canvey 2000 members hope this could help clinch major funding from Thames Gateway.
