The driver killed on the M25 near Brentwood on Monday has been named as 22-year-old David Flint.
Mr Flint, from Enfield, died after the blue Ford Escort he was driving collided with a lorry just west of the motorway's junction with the A12.
The car, which was travelling in the clockwise carriageway between junctions 27 and 28, flipped over and landed on its roof in the hard shoulder.
Mr Flint died at the scene.
All three passengers were taken to Oldchurch Hospital for treatment.
