The sun shone and brought out record-breaking crowds at this year's Redoubt Fete - which resulted in supplies of ice cream and hot dogs running out.
Organisers say about 3,000 people attended the event, which is now in its 34th year.
Andy Rutter, secretary of the Harwich Society, said: "It's been a great success. The weather was on our side."
He said while plans were being made to organise the event, which takes place at the historic Napoleonic fort, the weather was not that good.
But once the fete got underway, the sun came out.
Just like last year, the event was so popular that supplies of ice cream and hot dogs ran out.
"We were very pleased. There were queues for just about everything," said Mr Rutter.
He said provisional figures showed that the total amount raised was about £5,000 with the money going towards the ongoing restoration of the fort.
