Fun was the word on everyone's lips at a family charity day at Colchester's Castle Park.
Crowds of young and old alike enjoyed the warm spring bank holiday weather at a fun fair yesterday to raise money for local charities.

Entertainments, including a dog display, a wild west shootout and dancing, kept spectators amused throughout the day as well as competitions and sideshows.
The day was organised by Colchester Hospital Radio but about 20 other local charities also benefited by raising cash for their own good causes at stalls.

Andy Patrick, a presenter with the radio station, said about £4,000 had been collected.
This year marks the station's 40th birthday and the money will go towards the cost of making daily broadcasts from its base at the Wilson Marriage Centre in Barrack Street.
