A mother of two who was involved in a car crash on the A134 in Nayland has died.
Susan Winterbottom, 55, of Pownall Crescent, Colchester, was described by her husband as "a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister who will be sadly missed".
Mrs Winterbottom suffered serious head injuries following the accident on Thursday evening and died in Colchester General Hospital on Friday.
Originally from Ipswich, she had lived in Colchester since 1974 and was a mother of two daughters, Emily, who is at university in York, and Anna, who lives in London.
Mrs Winterbottom, who also had a brother and a sister, worked as an environmental scientific officer with St Edmundsbury Council in Suffolk.
She also enjoyed dancing and belonged to a local dance group.
Her husband David said: "Susan was a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister and will be sadly missed by all who knew her."
Mrs Winterbottom was driving a Vauxhall Nova car when she was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Cavalier.
The Cavalier driver, a 54-year-old woman from Great Cornard, Suffolk, suffered whiplash injuries.
A BMW, being driven by a 34-year-old woman from Great Waldingfield, Suffolk, was also involved in the accident but she was not injured.
A date for Mrs Winterbottom's funeral is yet to be arranged.
