A head has criticised electricity company 24seven after a power cut forced her to close the school and turn away more than 250 pupils.
Jenny McCutcheon arrived at Basildon's Fairhouse Junior School, Long Riding, yesterday morning at 7am to find there was no power on the premises.
A spokesperson for 24seven said: "We would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused."
