The mother of Southend MP Sir Teddy Taylor has died at the age of 98.
Minnie Taylor moved to Southend from Glasgow ten years ago and was living at the Abbeyfield Society home in St George's House Park Terrace, Westcliff.
She died from pneumonia.
Sir Teddy, the MP for Rochford and Southend East, said: "She thoroughly enjoyed every minute of her time in Southend and was very happy here.
"She found the people here very kind and nice."
One of her favourite haunts was the Alexandra Bowling Green Cafe, in Alexandra Road, Southend, where she had a table reserved for her lunch every day.
A funeral service will be held in Southend.
