Pensioner Peter Hedger has been globe-trotting in his quest to pass on judo tips to people in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
The sprightly 70-year-old went trekking last month and his adventures even included grappling with a deputy prime minister!
Hedger was in a good position to share his wealth of experience and knowledge about judo. He first took up the martial art way back in 1946.
And he still keeps involved by teaching youngsters twice a week at Colchester's Wilson Marriage Centre.
Hedger spent five weeks away his home in Morant Road, Colchester.
And he said: "It was a wonderful experience which I will never forget.
"I learnt so much but it was also very satisfying to pass on my knowledge."
