Police are searching for two men following a £15,000 robbery at Stansted Post Office.
The robbers, who were dressed as postmen, entered the sorting room of the post office in Chapel Hill at around 5.30pm on Monday and tied up two members of staff, a man and a woman.
They stole cash, pension books, tax discs, mobile phone top-up cards and postal orders.
Dc Rob Dix at Saffron Walden Police, said: ''We need the public's help. We are looking for anyone who saw postmen at that time of the day."
He said the victims did not see any weapons during the robbery.Police believe the men may have approached the post office from the Twitshell area.
A post office bike was later found in St Johns Road.A Royal Mail spokesman said: ''The post office is temporarily closed, it will reopen as soon as possible. The safety and security of our staff and customers is paramount.''
One robber is described as white, in his late 40s to early 50s, around five feet four tall and of stocky build. He had short grey hair and stubble.The second man was taller than his accomplice, and described as slim with possibly dark wavy hair.
