Work to the new Southend pier entrance is on track and will be open to the public on Saturday.
The pier entrance and bridge have been rapidly taking shape as part of the regeneration of the seafront and the town centre.

The new steel and glass pier entrance was a controversial choice by Southend Council last year because of its modern look in contrast with the Victorian structure of the pier.
The scheme includes a new bridge over Western Esplanade which is the first part of the scheme to be opened.
Executive councillor for regeneration David Garston said he will be inspecting the site on Friday.
He added the new building would be open for the airshow as promised.
