Time is running out for contributions to a living tribute to loved ones lost in the 1953 Canvey floods.
The memorial garden being established by the regeneration group Canvey 2000 at Eastern Esplanade, Canvey, is due to open at the end of this month.
However, the group has put out an urgent call for more donors to dedicate trees or roses in memory of flood victims.
Committee member Christine Andrews said: "We have had people come forward but we would like more people to donate money for trees.
"We will be putting in cherry trees which are £20 each but we are also planting roses which are £10 each."
Mrs Andrews also appealed for green-fingered volunteers who would be willing to help maintain the memorial garden, along with the scented garden and waterfall garden - also established on the seafront by Canvey 2000.
Anyone who wants to donate a tree, rose or their gardening skills, can contact Mrs Andrews on 01268 685484.
