Witham's extended wait for new public toilets is almost over.
The Newlands Drive public toilets closed last autumn to be rebuilt, with the shiny new loos scheduled for completion in early April.
But following a mix-up between the contractors and gas authorities, completion was delayed while another appointment to connect the gas supply was arranged.
Under the revised schedule they were supposed to open in early May, but now the council is hoping it will be opened in the next few days or even next week.
They are now waiting for hot water to be installed in the £90,000 toilets. Similar designs have won awards in the past and can be seen throughout the county including Finchingfield and Castle Hedingham.
