Fresh safety measures are in the pipeline for a junction on the A13 where a lorry driver died in the latest of a series of accidents.
Plans by the Highways Agency should improve the poor accident record at the eastbound junction of the A13 and the A1089 Dock Approach Road at Orsett.
The lorry driver died when his vehicle overturned on the very sharp bend on April 24. A senior police officer said a review was needed.
Now the agency is looking at installing an anti-skid surface and warning signs and making temporary speed warning signs permanent. The signs were first put up in October 2001 after two accidents in a month.
The agency has been carrying out a route management strategy investigation into the whole of the A13 from the edge of London to Tilbury Docks over recent months.
A spokeswoman said: "The strategy is in draft format at the moment. It will be exhibited to the public later this year and we will welcome any feedback and opinions."
