Canvey have broken with tradition by naming the first female president in the club's history.
Christine Tillett was confirmed in the new role at the club's annual meeting.
She is the owner of Frontline Financial Services, a long-term sponsor of the club, and her son John Anderson is a Canvey player.
Among the other appointments at the agm, Jason Carter is set to carry on as first-XV skipper, veteran Jeff Burder is club captain, while chairman Rob Edwards will spearhead the coaching team.
Canvey collected the wooden spoon in Eastern Counties One this season, but their form picked up dramatically in the closing stages of the season and they have high hopes for the 2003/04 campaign.
