Basildon and Pitsea suffered their first defeat of the season as rain disrupted the match.
The visitors saw Ross Marder (54), Frank McLeod (38) and Mark Amos (33) lead the innings as Basildon mustered 243-6 from their 52 overs.
Rain affected the Old Boys' innings but they took sufficient advantage of the conditions to record their second win of the campaign.
"It was a disappointment," admitted Basildon skipper Paul Ayres. "With the weather we had to go an bowl 25 overs to get our points.
"The weather meant we could not get our strike bowlers on until the end, when it was too late. If we had bowled against them in the same conditions they bowled in, we would not have lost."
But by bowling the 25 overs Basildon still picked up ten points compared to four for an abandoned match.
