Ian Westlake hopes to be '100 per cent' fit again by the end of this week.
The Ipswich Town midfielder has been undergoing round-the-clock treatment to recover from a medial ligament injury suffered against Portsmouth.
And his recovery has been achieved quicker than expected.
Westlake, from Clacton, told the Evening Gazette: "I should be 100 per cent fit again by the end of the week.
"I was having treatment every day but now it's more a question of doing exercises to strengthen and build-up my leg again.
"Things have happened quicker than I expected.
"Being fit in time for pre-season was my big priority and I thought I might have to postpone a holiday to make sure that happened.
"But now I can go away, relax and come back totally focused on getting in the starting line-up."
