South-Essex gym stars were left beaming with delight when the national development plan eastern region final were staged at Ipswich.

A host of the Basildon-based gymnasts, who train in Cranes Farm Road, qualified to represent the region when the national finals are staged in Newcastle on May 24 and 25.
Those making the trip north-east are Joseph Ben-Aderet, Jake Gardiner, Matthew Batterham, Sam Little, Leon Flemming, Reiss Beckford, Alex Maguire-Smith, Jamie Andrews, Daniel Fletcher, Jack Boyle, James Davies and Ryan Crighton.
Andrew Tucker and Anthony Wise are too young to make the trip but took first and second places in the under-age competition.
