Horndon were happy to take ten points from their draw with Shenfield, as they made 221-7 on a soggy pitch after being put in.

Opener Jason Plumb got them off to a flier with 46 in eight overs, while Pip Keepin top scored with 64 at No4, Dave Stitson scored 47 and Chris Sim chipped in with 27no down the order.

"I'm certainly happy with that, especially after losing the toss -- if someone had offered me 221-7 at that stage I'd have snapped their arm off," said Horndon skipper Paul Bennett.

The captain claimed 2-18 as Shenfield made 164-6 in reply, with Stitson taking 1-16.
