A host of celebrations have been arranged to mark the 100th anniversary of a Canvey church.
The occasion is particularly special as Leigh Beck Baptist Church, on the islands' High Street was badly damaged during the terrible floods of 1953 and had to have extensive rebuilding work done.
The Rev John Vinter, minister of the church, along with his wife, the Rev Helen Vinter, said they were keen to mark the anniversary.
He said: "Due to the history of the church and the way the members of its congregation fought to get it re-established again after the floods we have organised a range of events to celebrate."
Youngsters can enjoy face-painting and a bouncy castle during a funday being held at the church on Saturday between 11am and 3pm.
There will also be stalls for adults to wander around while sampling a variety of home-made refreshments.
Later in the evening, the congregation will be treated to a celebratory meal where Castle Point MP Bob Spink and mayor Chris Freeman will be guests.
