Mark Sale will be aiming to cap his comeback from a life-threatening cancer on Sunday by shooting Tamworth to FA Trophy final glory.
The giant 31-year-old former Colchester United striker is set to play for the newly-crowned Dr Martens League premier division champions against Burscough in the final at Villa Park.
And as the U's 1998, Wembley promotion play-off final hero looked ahead to his historic day, he told the Evening Gazette: "This is the biggest game outside League football, other than the Conference promotion play-off final, and I want to be a part of it.
"It's very much like the old Colchester days when they won the Trophy and Conference double.
"We have a great chance to become the first side outside the Conference to win a league and Trophy double and I want to be a part of that."
Happily declared fit and well again after his cancer scare of three-and-a-half years ago - a scare that was to cost him his Third Division career with Rushden and Diamonds - Sale said: "Frankly, I'm just happy to be playing football again.
"When I was ill I never thought I would ever play again, but I've been clear of any problems for more than two years now and can't wait for Sunday afternoon to come around."
