Braintree Town boss Gary Bellamy has begun his shake-up for next season by releasing four first-teamers.
Ex-captain Gary Waters, midfielder Sam Keevil and strikers Tommy Noble and Jamie Richards have all been shown the Cressing Road exit door.
Bellamy is working hard to bring in replacements and says he has a shortlist of 35 to work from.
A goalkeeper to give veteran Paul Catley competition and a new centre-forward are priorities.
Bellamy told the Evening Gazette: "This season we had to battle to stay up and didn't play the sort of football I like.
"Next year I want to be more creative and I'll be bringing in some fresh talent to help us play that way.
"I'm talking to players and hope to have new faces in before pre-season starts on July 5."
