A green-thinking council will be doing its bit to help people recycle.
Castle Point Council is to introduce a six-month pilot scheme to collect cardboard from outside homes.
The collection will visit homes every fortnight, collecting on a Wednesday in Hadleigh and travelling through Canvey on a Thursday.
Families wanting their cardboard collected are asked to collapse and tie large boxes and place little ones in carrier bags outside their homes on collection day.
Council officers hope the scheme, which is due to start on June 30, will improve the area's recycling levels.
