An appeal supported by the Essex Chronicle to help improve access to shops in Chelmsford for people with mobility problems has proved a great success.
The target for The Meadows Shopmobility appeal has been surpassed and more than £90,000 has been raised.
Now a total of 11 new scooters and 15 wheelchairs have been delivered for the scheme, which will operate from a base in The Meadows multi-storey car park. The scheme will be officially launched on Monday, May 19.
