The nightmare of finding a parking space outside home could be over in one street.
Residents in Greenways, Benfleet, have appealed to Castle Point Council to have an area of green space covered in grasscreting - a porous paving made from grass and concrete.
If councillors agree to the plan, it will mean people living in the area will be able to drive up to concreted parking spaces outside their doors.
Anxious families have even agreed to foot the bill.
There are a only small number of parking spaces along the road and many residents cannot drive off the road and stop near the safety of their own properties.
Grasscrete would harden the green space around their homes and allow them to drive up to their houses, reducing the amount of on-street parking in the area and improving road safety.
Nigel Thomas, director of technical services at Castle Point Council, has advised council members to agree to the proposal.
