Two young men today suffered serious injuries after their powerful car collided head-on with a London taxi.
Police and fire crews were called to Western Road, Billericay, after the collision at around 12.40am today.

Firefighters had to cut the roof off the white Vauxhall Astra to free the 19-year-old driver, from Wickford, and his 20-year-old front seat passenger, from Billericay, who took the force of the crash.
The back seat passenger in the Astra was also treated for slight injuries as was the 57-year-old taxi driver, from Billericay.
Police say the Astra was heading towards Chelmsford but crossed onto the other side of the road where it struck the on-coming taxi.
All were taken to Basildon Hospital after being treated by paramedics at the scene.
