Stunned casino bosses watched in amazement as yet another card player recorded a huge win from just a £1 bet.
The lucky poker-playing punter won £40,826 at the Westcliff Casino, in Western Esplanade, only 28 days after an elated gambler walked away with an incredible £187,000 from the same progressive jackpot.
Under the rules of the game, if a player gets a straight flush - any five card sequence in the same suit - he or she wins ten per cent of "the pot". And if the players get a royal flush - ten, jack, queen, king, ace in the same suit - they win it all.
They need only to place a bet of £1 to play the game.
Monday night's winner wishes to remain anonymous...but was the toast of the town as the casino provided champagne on the house.
Casino spokesman John Harland said: "The odds are tremendous of a royal flush coming in again."
