A florist has donated about £470 to pay for competition leotards for a team of budding gymnasts.
Young members of a new student gymnastics club at Runwell Community Primary School in Wickford, had been attending competitions in tee-shirts and shorts before Daisy Chain Florist, Lower Southend Road, Wickford, came to the rescue.
School governor Pauline Dawson said the donation had paid for 13 leotards: "We've only recently started the club, but some of the girls didn't have team leotards. It didn't look professional and made the children lose confidence when they saw all the others turn up in their sparklies."

Florist owner, Pauline Dawson said: "We thought it might be nice to sponsor the team."
The sponsorship badges from Daisy Chain Florist are on the hip of each leotard.
